A place where you
take charge of your life,
not your insurance company
Our work with you goes beyond just the therapy session itself.
We develop customized treatment plans, research the latest information on best therapy practices to help you, and we confidentially (not using your name or other identifying information) consult with other professionals in our field to help increase the effectiveness of our work with you.
We offer individual, couple, and family sessions. While most sessions are 50 minutes in length, we offer intensive sessions as well. Phone sessions are available for regular clients.
We are happy to answer your questions.
Please call 781-652-0656 for more information.
We have chosen to remain independent of contracts or networks with insurance companies, which means we do not participate on any insurance network panels. However, our license still allows you to submit claims for partial reimbursement if you have out-of-network benefits or PPO plans, without divulging to your insurer any in-depth specifics about your therapy. HMO plans do not include out-of-network coverage.
We are happy to provide you with a receipt containing all the information you will need to submit claims to your PPO plan, should you wish to do so.
Each plan is different, and clients are responsible for understanding the parameters of their unique plans.
This choice allows us to focus solely on your unique needs in therapy, and not what your insurance company dictates.
The majority of our clients prefer the discretion and flexibility that comes with paying privately for our services.
Using insurance for mental health services is a highly personal choice, and it's important to know the risks and benefits involved so that you can make an informed decision. In order to give you the most effective, private, and flexible services possible, we have chosen not to contract directly with insurance companies. Confidentiality is a fundamental element of effective therapy. Managed-care insurance companies require us to disclose highly personal information about you, your history, and your progress in therapy. They often limit the number of sessions based on this information, and place restrictions on how you can benefit from therapy. They also require that we give you a mental disorder diagnosis to receive coverage, even if your situation does not warrant this diagnosis. This mental disorder diagnosis can impact your eligibility to obtain future health and/or life insurance, and can increase your premiums and affect your overall coverage. Conversely, using insurance can make therapy more affordable, which can be a big help when longer-term therapy is necessary. Again, it's a personal choice, and we're available to discuss your options so that you can make the decision that's best for you and your unique situation.
Since we do not contract directly with insurance plans, we do not guarantee coverage or reimbursement. Clients are responsible for understanding their insurance benefits, authorizations, and any changes in coverage. Always check with your insurance plan for confirmation of coverage.
We accept payment by cash, check and all major credit cards (MasterCard, Visa, American Express).
We require 48 hours notice if you are unable to make your scheduled appointment. Without advance notice, missed sessions will be charged the full fee as booked.
